Ofcourse, rapper AKA, would call on womxn in SA Hip Hop to slay the bars of his hit single Baddest. The club banger originally featured AKA’s faves Burna Boy, Khuli Chana and Yanga but it is lyrics Moozlie, Rouge, Fifi Cooper and Gigi Lamayne on the remix that gets Twitter fire-flame-emoji-throwing for hours after its release.

The release of the remix single is announced  as a surprise by AKA on November 17 via Instagram with the names of the featured artists blurred to get everyone guessing. When the song is released for free download the next day, hype on Twitter erupts.

The badass m’rappers held the remix down and there wasn’t a naysayer in sight. This just may be the beginning of the end of the “female rapper” talk; these ladies came to play with the boys and slayed the boys.

In the behind the scenes video, shot during the recording of the remix, AKA says that the idea “was to give the platform to upcoming emcees, period!” And it is no lie that these ladies were the talk of  SA Hip Hop in 2015 with all of them releasing fire debut singles within the year. We hope to see mixtapes and albums in 2016!
