It was announced a few weeks ago that MAC Cosmetics will be doing a collaboration series with four young women musicians, namely Tinashe, Halsey, Dej Loaf and Lion Babe. Each artist has their own product, Tinashe on Eye Shadow, Halsey on a Lipstick, Dej Loaf on a Lip Gloss and Lion Babe on a Glitter Eye-Shadow.  The products are set to launch concurrently from March 17th. Let’s hope they will be launching in SA at the same time.

20 Students arrested at Wits University

Writer and Student, Panashe Chigumadzi  live tweeted the arrest of black Wits students this past Friday. Paneshe was one of the students arrested by SAPS on the university campus while the group was sitting peacefully on the side of a road. It was reported that the students were arrested for violating a court order that was obtained by the University last year. The students were sent to Hilbrow Police Station where they were detained until they were released without bail the same night – the students are ordered to appear in court on Monday. Despite what the University claims, it seems to be that these students were arrested for having a gathering of more than two black people – something reminiscent of Apartheid laws.

Nomzamo had us in envy this week as she grammed her time at New York Fashion Week as the official ambassador of PUMA South Africa. From meeting Rih’s mom backstage at the Fenty x PUMA show, to selfies with Chris Rock and seats at Kanye’s Madison Sqaure Garden Yeezy S3 show and album listening party, she was everywhere we wanted to be. Nomzamo is fast growing her international name with the caliber of brands that she signs with, we are so here to see her in the next global Puma or Neutorgena campaign!
